When Zia Ullah wanted to start a drycleaning shop in the East End of London, he wanted to do it well. After researching the market for nearly 3 years, he knew what he wanted and how to go about it, and more importantly he identified that in order to succeed, you have to portray a professional and clinical image.
Zia and his brother Irshad contacted Jason Alexander with whom they had been talking to over this 3 year research period, and after much research and looking into all makes of machinery, eventually decided that Renzacci UK plc was to be the supplier for this project.
“Jason not only brought into the picture the very high quality machinery that I was looking for, but also a wealth of knowledge he has amassed. He point me in the right direction in terms of ancillary suppliers, marketing consultants and graphic designers, his company organised the installation of the gas mains, and applied for the Permit to Operate a drycleaners on my behalf from the local council and installed all the machinery.

Once we decided upon our supplier, we talked with him for hours about where we wanted to position ourselves in the market, and what services we would like to offer our clients. He actually played the devils advocate, and never tried to oversell me machinery and in some instances actually told me I was mad about some of the ideas we threw around! In fact, we would have ordered more machinery than needed had he not told us to keep our money in my pocket!”
Eventually, Zia and Irshad decided upon offering a professional drycleaning service, laundry facilities for flatwork and duvets and a fully automated shirt service.

“One thing that Jason did say was to roll out the services in stages”, said Irshad. “The reasoning behind this was that as newcomers to the industry there is a huge amount to take in and learn. So we really wanted to walk before we could run and deliver on the promises we made our clients. To this end, we firstly tackled the drycleaning side of things, and Renzacci UK’s trainer, Roger Cawood spent five days with us teaching us all about drycleaning, from receiving garments into the shop, to spotting them, drycleaning them, pressing and packaging them. It was a brilliant course, and although I cannot at this stage say I we the best drycleaners in the country, at least we are more than competent, and have the security to know that if we ever need advise, Roger and Renzacci are there for us.”
All in all, Cleanwell Drycleaners have been opened for a short period now, but their takings and satisfaction in their new venture has proved to be far higher than expected.
The two partners installed a Renzacci Progress 35 Club Drycleaning machine, Pony Cosmos Finishing Cabinet, Pony SP/U Press, Pony Silver-SV Finishing Table, Pony Jolly spotting Table, a Pony MG402 Shirt machine with CCP-V Collar and Cuff press as well as a high spin washing machine and tumble dryer to suit. They also installed a GMP18-35 Roller Ironer.
We are geared up for everything we wanted to do, and we have the confidence now, with the machinery, the support of the Renzacci team and our willingness to be the best that we will be able to produce a superb job for our clients, time after time and be a business to be proud of.
